THIS WEEKEND… go and see Return of the Rudeboy at Somerset House.
Curated by prolific photographer and filmmaker Dean Chalkley and fashion-industry favourite Harris Elliott, Return of the Rudeboy showcases a sartorial subculture with portraits, installations and set pieces exploring the style, swagger and significance of the 21st century Rudeboy.
Over the course of the past year the duo has photographed over 60 sharply dressed individuals from across the UK, all of whom embody the essence of what it is to be a Rudeboy in the 21st century, documenting the life, style and attitude of this growing urban group. The curated collection of images shows the subjects presenting their singular sartorial swagger from the streets of Shoreditch to Savile Row.
There’s a series of related events, including a screening of cult classic The Harder They Come on Thursday 31 July. The exhibition runs until 25 August.
